Sharing

Are you a student in Aix-en -Provence? Good news, you won't be bored! There's something going on all year long. If you're looking for something to do, take inspiration from our top 3 events for students in Aix-en-Provence.

1. Marsatac Festival: paying homage to Marseille hip-hop

Every year when summer is on the horizon, the city of Marseille hosts the legendary Marsatac festival: 3 days filled with the sounds of hip hop, electro and rock music. During the event, new talent and well-known artists perform, taking audiences on a journey into sound. Fancy going to one of the largest festivals in the south France? Students can get tickets at a reduced rate.

2.Instant d’été: come and relax at the outdoor cinema

The mild climate means outdoor events are often on the programme in Aix-en-Provence. And Instant d’été is one of them, an outdoor film festival that usually takes place in July. Head out at as night falls to watch great cinema classics, opera, animated films, documentaries and more. It's free to attend, so make the most of it, you just need to book!

3.Mondial la Marseillaise à pétanque: the event for petanque players

The essential pétanque event of the year! Once the largest international pétanque championship in the world and a very popular festival, this event brings together all generations across all the pétanque courts in the city. The championship takes place over 5 days, starting the first weekend in July. Open to anyone, this is the time to show your talents and shine in front of thousands of spectators.

If you want to pitch your wits against the best then you better brush up on the lingo as expressions like "Avoir le bati-bati" (losing your cool on a decisive play) are often used by the players at Borely park.
