Presentation Appart'Etud STANFORD
Description of the residence
Off to study in Caen? Avoid the hassle of searching for student accommodation within your price range and head straight for the Nemea Appart'Etud Stanford residence! Just a stone's throw from the tramway and the main universities, the residence offers cosy, fully furnished and equipped flats. No more sitting with Mum and Dad every night, life is about to get busy with study, sports, parties and more.
Located in an area that’s quiet in the evening and lively during the day, the Stanford residence is ideally placed less than 10 minutes' walk from IAE, the Faculty of Medicine, EM Normandie, Université de Pharmacie, ENSICAEN and Prépa Medicaen. Hit snooze too many times? Don’t stress about it, it’ll only take you a few minutes to walk to class. If you're lucky, you'll even have time for a quick coffee. The residence is ultra-close to the main universities and only 300 m from a tram stop for quick access to the city centre.
The Stanford residence is made up of 150 studio or extra-large studio flats with a surface area of 18 to 22 m². Each flat is designed to make you feel as comfortable as possible. There’s no one to tidy up after you here, so, make some resolutions and use the storage space in your home well. A surprise guest turned up? Don’t sweat it! The trundle bed can be quickly transformed into a double bed. No more wet towels thrown on your chair! Your heated towel rail can also be used to dry your clothes. Are you a good cook? Treat yourself and cook up a storm in the kitchenette. With a ceramic hob and worktop, you have everything you need! Cooking not a word that features in your vocabulary? Use the microwave oven for ready meals in minutes. A small but important bonus: the bar, handy if you're having people over (in moderation, of course).
When it comes to working on your courses there are two options: your own desk in your flat or the co-working room for group work. Want to relax after an intense study session? The residence offers a different activity for an hour every week. Don't just stay in your room, there's more to life than Netflix! The residence organises evenings throughout the year (welcome drink etc.). Need to unwind or relax? Head to the gym for a muscle-sculpting, self-defence or yoga session.

Student life in Caen.
This city in Normandy has more than 34,000 young people enrolled in higher education. As a student city, Caen is also a city where there’s never a dull moment, soak up the culture and history. Its best asset: the location! Few cities can boast being equally close to the sea and the countryside. The sea is just as warm as the Med (or almost, promise!). A 15-minute drive will take you to Ouistreham and the D-Day landing beaches. A site of remembrance, the Caen Memorial is visited each year by thousands of tourists. Stroll around the city and discover its typical historical monuments such as the Abbaye aux Dames. Take advantage of the fine weather to soak up the sun in the gardens of Caen Castle.
In addition to shows in the concert halls such as the Big Band Café or Le Cargo, Caen is the scene of several cultural events throughout the year. The Beauregard contemporary music festival at the beginning of July always has a great atmosphere. Caen is also known for organising the largest student carnival in Europe in April! Time to let off steam with 20,000 other students from all over Europe, sounds tempting right?
